Different foundations on the market.

How do I know what type of foundation is right for my skin type?

Lets first break down the different foundations bases and then you can determine what would work best for your skin type!
Foundation Bases:

Cream foundations have the most coverage and are moisturizing to the skin. You will also see these in stick forms.
Best for dry skin and all over coverage.

Liquid foundations can be full to sheer/light coverage depending on the consistency of the formula.
Best for oily to combination skin and controlled coverage.

Iridescent/Luminaire foundations come as creams, liquids, and in sticks. They will give you a little coverage with a shimmer when light reflecting.
Best for highlighting areas on the face. For example cheek planes, under natural arch of the browbones, temples, peaks of the lip, bridge of the nose and chin.

Moisturizer with a tint of color is NOT considered a foundation. However it will give you a little color and help with dryness. It doesn’t cover blemish or imperfections.
Best for combination to dry skin and achieving a glowing coverage.

Mineral Foundations are usually powders and made up of ingredients that are mostly minerals and perhaps cornstarch.
Best for skin that is sensitive to dyes, binding ingredients and fragrances.  Most comely used for after facials and laser procedures.
