- Spend more money on your foundation. Stay away from drugstore foundations. I’m all about saving money, but foundation is your base, the 'foundation' to your entire makeup application. Spend a few extra dollars and apply it correctly your face will be flawless, like your not even wearing any makeup at all!
- If you feel your face looks really powdered, use a blotting pad or wet your sponge to town down the powder. Also make sure you really buff out the powder with a powder brush.
- Apply less makeup on crow's-feet and mature lines, and keep those areas well moisturized for a flawless long wearing look.
- Always use sunscreen if you are going to be in the sun. Just apply after you apply your moisturizer. Lots of foundations may say they have sunscreen but don’t trust them. Take the extra step and just apply on cheeks and bridge of your nose.
- Exfoliate your skin at least two times a week. This will help get rid of dead skin cells and allow new ones to grow. Your foundation will go on so smooth, you will see a huge difference.
- To keep your foundation from sliding off your face, creasing, and/or caking together set with a translucent powder. I like to use a large powder puff and then buff it out with a powder brush.
- Blend, Blend, Blend. You have to blend the foundation into your hairlines, down your neck and chest and around your nose. When you step outside in natural sunlight double check to make sure you have blended all areas. If you are going out at night just use a well lit mirror.
- Add blush to the apples of the cheeks to give color back into your skin.
- Study shading/contouring to really enhance your features.
- Conceal under eyes with a lighter color concealer. You want to brighten up under the eyes to highlight your eyes. Make sure the concealer is in a V like shape. You don’t want to look like a raccoon!
